Full Moon, Full Plates – Purnima Feeding Drive by SRSHTI Organization

Purnima is a night of light—when the moon appears complete, calm, and generous. In many homes, it is a time for prayer, gratitude, and good wishes. But just a few streets away, the same night can feel very different for someone who has not eaten all day. A hungry stomach does not wait for tomorrow. A child’s silence does not announce itself. An elderly person’s weakness often goes unnoticed. This Purnima, SRSHTI Organization is running a dedicated feeding campaign to reach the hungry, needy, and poor with a simple gift that carries the greatest dignity: a warm, nourishing meal.

Our mission is clear—turn devotion into action. While we offer prayers under the full moon, we also want to offer comfort to those who sleep with empty stomachs: daily-wage workers, homeless families, abandoned elders, migrants, and anyone struggling to arrange even one meal a day. Food is not only nutrition; it is hope. It tells someone, “You matter. You are seen. You are not alone.”

What We Will Do on Purnima

Through this Purnima Feeding Drive, we plan to distribute freshly prepared meals and essential nourishment in areas where hunger is most visible and urgent. Our volunteers will identify people in need—near temples, hospitals, bus stands, labor points, and streets where families often spend nights without security. Every meal packet will be packed with care, hygiene, and respect, so that the support feels human, not transactional.
