Feed the Hungry Homeless Children in India

Donate For Homeless Children

Donate For Homeless

It is heartbreaking to see that many children still go to bed hungry. They live without homes, without support, and without hope. At SRSHTI (Sardar Ranjodh Singh Health and Training Initiative), we believe that no child should have to sleep on an empty stomach. We are on a mission to feed the hungry homeless children and others living on the streets. Your support can help us reach more people in need and ensure that no one is left behind.

1. The Reality of Hunger in India

Donate For Homeless-A

Across India, countless families live in makeshift shelters near highways, under flyovers, near railway stations, and bus stops. Among them are children who have never seen the inside of a classroom, elderly people who have been abandoned, and differently-abled individuals who struggle to survive. For these people, even one meal a day is a luxury.

Hunger is not just about not having food. It is about the lack of dignity, the constant pain, and the helplessness of not being able to provide for oneself or one’s family. At SRSHTI, we aim to reduce this suffering and restore dignity through simple but powerful steps — one meal at a time.

2. Slum Feeding Program

We have been running a dedicated Slum Feeding Program in various parts of Dehradun. Every day, we prepare and distribute hot, nutritious meals to hundreds of homeless children and families living in extreme poverty. Our volunteers walk through slums, railway platforms, and other public places to find those in need and serve them freshly cooked food with love and respect.

Over the past year, we have reached over 15-20 slum areas, bringing food and hope to thousands. The joy on a child’s face when receiving a warm meal is priceless. Many children wait eagerly for our food vans, and their smiles remind us why this work matters.

3. Helping Abandoned Children and Disabled

Slum Communities-A

While feeding homeless children is a top priority, we also focus on abandoned senior citizens and differently-abled individuals. Many of them have no family, no income, and no support. They live in pain and silence. Through our daily feeding program, we try to ensure they at least receive one healthy meal daily, along with human connection and care.

We also identify leprosy patients and bedridden individuals who cannot come to our distribution spots. In such cases, our volunteers deliver meals directly to their homes or shelters.

4. Nutrition Matters

We believe food should not only fill the stomach but also nourish the body. That’s why we focus on providing balanced meals rich in essential nutrients. We serve rice, roti, dal, seasonal vegetables, and sometimes fruits or milk for children. Pregnant women, infants, and underweight children receive extra nutritional support.

5. Combating Food Waste

A big part of our mission is to also reduce food wastage. India wastes tons of food daily while millions remain hungry. At SRSHTI, we encourage local hotels, restaurants, and households to donate excess cooked food. Our team collects, inspects, and redistributes it safely to the needy. This not only helps feed more people but also reduces environmental impact.

6. More Than Just Food – A Ray of Hope

Our work goes beyond feeding. We listen to their stories, provide warm clothes in winter, and sometimes arrange basic healthcare. For homeless children, we try to connect them to schools and learning centers. For those in medical need, we assist with medicines and treatment.

We also cover education expenses for selected children from homeless families. Giving them a chance to study is the first step toward breaking the cycle of poverty.

7. Volunteer With Us

Our work is not possible without the support of our dedicated volunteers. People from all walks of life — students, professionals, homemakers, and retirees — come together to help us serve. You can also join hands with us to make a difference. Whether it’s helping us distribute meals, organize health camps, or tutor a child, every act of kindness counts.

Volunteering is a powerful way to give back to society and experience the joy of serving others. It brings hope not only to the one who receives but also to the one who gives.

8. Donate Today – Every Rupee Counts

Your donation, no matter how small, can help us continue our work. Just ₹50 can feed one hungry child. ₹500 can provide meals to an entire homeless family for a week. ₹5,000 can sponsor a slum feeding drive in a local area. You can also choose to donate food items, utensils, or sponsor a day’s meals on your birthday or in memory of a loved one. With your help, we can expand to more cities, reach more hungry children, and provide better healthcare and education.

9. A Future of Dignity and Opportunity

At SRSHTI, our long-term goal is to build a society where no child goes hungry, no elderly is abandoned, and no individual is left uncared for. Through our three main pillars — Health, Hunger, and Education — we are working every day to transform lives and give people a better tomorrow.

We dream of building self-sustaining communities where people have access to food, healthcare, education, and employment. It is a big dream, but with your support, it is possible.

Join us today. Feed a child and Change a life.

Let us come together to create a world where every hungry child finds food, every homeless person feels seen, and every human being lives with dignity.
